This week we were treated with the re-release of the Yeezy Slide Bone colourway, as well as two new colourways in Core and Soot. Although coming under some scrutiny when first released, the slide has since made a massive impact on the sneaker industry once people found out just how comfortable they were. The idea behind the silhouette was for wearing around the house or wherever you want to be cosy. The light bone colourway is instantly recognisable as a Kanye creation as natural hues have become a mainstay for Yeezy releases. The deep ridged sole is fitting when you look at the armoured style soles we are used to with Yeezy sneakers.
Although Mr. West has previewed dozens of hands-free, laceless footwear since joining the Three Stripes in 2013, very few have seen a retail release. The shoes feature just two components – an inflexible, modlded upper and a serrated sole – but have been designed to resemble a one-piece shoe, similar to the Yeezy Foam Runner. Their ultra-minimal, less-conventional aesthetic has led countless spectators to criticize the Yeezys, but the slides have immediately sold out every time they’ve released. A minimalist shoe that’s as versatile as it is modern, the Yeezy Slide Onyx is crafted from a uniquely designed EVA foam. The shoe features meticulously placed grooves that support your foot in all the right places, while a serrated sole ensures grip wherever you decide to wear them. Staying true to Kanye West’s style, branding is kept to a minimum, with a simple adidas Three-Stripe logo stamped on the inside for good measure.
I would definitely size up to the next full size especially if you have wider feet. I would say stick with your true to size or maybe potentially go with size up. This is the one that I thought would fit, but of course, trying it on, it’s definitely a little too small as well. Trying out the Bone colorway in a size 10, these do fit basically the same as the Onyx.
In fact, usually on most slides, your heel kind of lands on the inside of the shoe, but in the Yeezy Slide, your heel is actually supposed to rest a little bit over the back of it. He always goes for a much more organic and a much more futuristic minimalistic look for his sneakers. In fact, like the Yeezy Foam Runner, even after wearing the shoe for a month, there’s barely any wear on the shoe at all. So, when you step into the shoe replica shoes, you feel like you’re kind of falling into this nice cushion, but then it sort of bounces you back out so you never feel sluggish when you’re walking. On the older slides, the shoe seemed to have a very smooth almost semi-gloss finish, which wasn’t bad and allowed your foot to slide in and out of the shoe pretty easily. The Onyx is the all-black Yeezy Slide and they’re going to be so tough to cop.
The cushioning is really soft underfoot without being too mushy or unstable. It’s kind of wild-looking and different than any other pair of slides I’ve ever seen before. However, It’s also got this super minimal super clean aesthetic. For the Yeezy Slides, everything is in men’s/unisex sizing but can be converted into women’s sizing.
